BIOGRAPHIE
My name is Frederick Francis Salomon and I started working as Aldabra Atoll site Manager in April 2022 with Seychelles Islands Foundation. My role involves overseeing all daily operations, staff management, enforcing the island’s rules and regulations, supporting the research team, and keeping in close contact with Head Office staff on Mahé island to ensure the smooth and safe running of the Aldabra research station. My interest in conservation started at a very young age, I was fascinated and inquisitive by my surrounding environment. I started as a Conservation Ranger with Island Conservation Society in 2004, and worked my way up to site Manager on Aldabra Atoll. From my numerous years of working on remote islands and small reserves, over the years I’ve developed a deep passion for Seychelles wildlife and enjoy using my skills and experience to explore and improve life for all island inhabitants, from people to giant tortoise.
