Artefact Analysis: I can assist in the identification, classification, and analysis of archaeological artefacts. FORMATION DE BASE

Education: Obtain a bachelor's degree in archaeology, Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies. This provides a solid foundation in archaeological theory, methods, and fieldwork practices. I then furthered my studies and obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Archaeology and a DPhil in Archaeology. 1. As heritage Manager I gained experience in heritage conservation and management, heritage conservation principles, practices, and methodologies. As an Archaeologist 1. Fieldwork Experience: Gain practical experience through fieldwork opportunities. This involved participating in archaeological excavations, surveys, or laboratory work. 2. Archaeological Methods and Techniques: Acquired knowledge and training in various archaeological methods and techniques. This includes learning about excavation methods, survey techniques, artefact identification, mapping and recording systems, and laboratory analysis. 3. Cultural Resource Management: I have knowledge of cultural resource management (CRM) principles and practices. Learn about heritage legislation, site protection, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies. 4. Analytical Skills: Develop strong analytical skills for interpreting archaeological data. This involves learning how to analyze artefacts, ecofacts, and features to understand their cultural and chronological contexts. 5. Research and Writing: I am knowledgeable in research and writing skills to effectively communicate archaeological findings. I can conduct literature reviews, write research proposals, and produce clear and concise reports. 6. Ethics and Cultural Sensitivity: Understand the ethical considerations in archaeology, including respect for indigenous communities, cultural sensitivity, and the responsible management of archaeological resources.

Dr Senzeni Khumalo is a dedicated heritage manager with a passion for preserving and promoting cultural heritage. Senzeni holds a Doctorate in Archaeology, a Master of Arts in Archaeology as well as a Bachelor (Honours) Arts Degree in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies. She is an active member of several professional associations in the field. With over a decade of experience in the field, she has played a pivotal role in managing and conserving some of the most significant historical sites such as 19th Century Ndebele sites in Zimbabwe, Old Bulawayo, King Mzilikazi’s grave, King Mzilikazi Memorial, Rock art in Matobo World Heritage Landscape, Dry-stone walled structures at Khami World Heritage Site. Dr Khumalo is also the head of Archaeology in at the Natural History Museums and is in charge of archaeological and ethnographic collections. As the Heritage Manager at Natural History Museum, Senzeni oversees a diverse collection of artifacts and works closely with a team of experts to ensure their preservation and interpretation. She has successfully implemented innovative conservation techniques. Furthermore she has developed engaging exhibitions such as the Pupu Battle Site Memorial that bring history to life for visitors. Senzeni's expertise extends beyond museum management. She has collaborated with local communities, government agencies, and archaeological teams to conduct extensive research and excavation projects. Her contributions have shed new light on the region's cultural heritage and have been instrumental in securing funding for heritage preservation initiatives. She frequently presents at conferences, sharing her insights on best practices in heritage conservation and community engagement.
