BIOGRAPHIE

Emanuel António Messias Caboco, 51 years old, single, was born in Luanda, Angola on March 9, 1973, and early age (at 17 years old) showed interest on Cultural Heritage. His professional activities began in 1990, with the participation at the first Campaign for Registration of Civil Architectural Buildings of the City of Luanda. Since then, worked at National Institute of Cultural Heritage being responsible for many years for the National Centre of Monuments Sites. His first training in Heritage was in charge of CENCREM (Centro Nacional de Conservacion e Restauration de Cuba) in 1991 and 1993 left for Portugal where he had a professional training at Rainha Dona Leonor Institute. Obtained a degree in Sociology by Jean Piaget University in Luanda and he was Head of Section, after for a Department and since 2017 is the Deputy Director General of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage. For many years has been a trainer of Managers of Cultural Heritage and was member of the Technical Group for the Nomination of Mbanza Kongo at the World Heritage List (2007-2017). As well, he is member of the national Technical Group for the Application of Tchitundu Hulu; Kwanza Corridor (Landscape) and Cuito Cuanavale as World Heritage sites (UNESCO). Author of several articles specialized in tourism, heritage, and museums, published in Angola and member of Angolan Committee of ICOMOS.
